Welcome to Windsor Terrace
Once a farm belonging
to John Vanderbilt, the village of Windsor Terrace was incorporated
in 1851. 8th
Avenue is shared with Park Slope as far north as 15th Street,
while Green-Wood Cemetery forms the southern border with
Caton Avenue. Prospect Park lies to the north, where local
softball and soccer teams of all ages can be found throughout
the summer, and early morning dog walkers anytime of the
year. Windsor
Terrace is the home of Prospect Park's riding stables as
well.
Here
the F Train is rarely more than four blocks away and while
Prospect Park West is convenient for shopping, be prepared
to add extra time for the inevitable exchange of gossip with
your neighbors - as Irish as they come! The old trolley
barns have long been replaced by Bishop Ford High School
and the vacant Saunder's Movie Palace was recently renovated
into the Pavilion Theater. Whether they be Italian or Mexican,
Windsor Terrace restaurants won't disappoint: and who would
have ever dreamed that a sushi restaurant would open on
Prospect Park West? Drop by for a visit! If you come from
a small town, you'll feel especially at home in Windsor
Terrace.
About
Our Maps & Streets
Our
maps and scrollable streets are not drawn to scale. Our maps
are meant to convey a sense of what you'll find when you walk
the neighborhoods. Since our web space is limited, we have
adopted the following conventions.
"Apartments"
indicates a multifamily building or buildings, generally without
a stoop. "Residences" are buildings with stoops
and may be multifamily. "Residence"
(singular) is a single building. "Residences"
(plural) may indicate two our three attached buildings.
Storefront
note:
Wherever storefronts (yellow) are indicated, they are most
likely to be three or four story brick buildings with apartments
above. A vacant storefront in no way indicates that the entire
building is vacant.
About
Our Updates...
We walk our commercial streets every three or four months
in order update our shop information. While the date reflects
our last official update, we make a point to include new
information as we hear of it. Feel free to let us know of
any changes in your neighborhood.
