Global Warming: Undo It
A major national campaign, spearheaded by Environmental Defense,
to increase public awareness about the dangers of global warming,
to press political and other leaders in the U.S. for more aggressive
action against global warming, and to win passage of the Climate
Stewardship Act (S. 139) in Congress.
The Environmental Defense team of global warming experts -- scientists,
economists, attorneys, legislative specialists and more -- is working
together with allied organizations to press for solutions to global
warming, the most critical environmental issue threatening our planet.
The Earth is heating up. By burning fossil fuels and clear-cutting
forests, humans are adding carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping
greenhouse gases to the atmosphere at a perilous rate. The consequences
of global warming are potentially catastrophic. But there is hope.
You can help to undo global warming.

Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)
Recognizing the problem of potential global climate change, the
World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the United Nations Environment
Programme (UNEP) established the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate
Change (IPCC) in 1988.
It is open to all members of the UNEP and WMO. The role of the IPCC
is to assess the scientific, technical and socio-economic information
relevant for the understanding of the risk of human-induced climate
change. It does not carry out research nor does it monitor climate
related data or other relevant parameters. It bases its assessment
mainly on peer reviewed and published scientific/technical literature.

National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL)
The mission of the NSSL is to enhance the National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration's (NOAA) capabilities to provide accurate and timely
forecasts and warnings of hazardous weather events (e.g., blizzards,
ice storms, flash floods, tornadoes, lightning, etc.)
