A nationally acclaimed organization dedicated to improving the
quality of life for all communities through participatory tree
related programs. TNY plants, preserves and cares for trees through
crucial community-oriented and technical support services through
education, training, desktop publishing, and advocacy efforts.We
have compiled all sorts of information about trees, tree care
and Trees New York and it is available here on our site.
The Trees

Homegrown
HomeGrown is an organization of community volunteers
working with the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation to care
for the 18th Street Park (the .442-acre green space at the northwest
corner of 18th Street and 7th Avenue). To find out more about
helping to maintain the park and cultivate the park's planting

GreenThumb
Established in 1978, GreenThumb remains the nation's largest urban
gardening program, assisting over 650 gardens and nearly 20,000
garden members throughout New York City. Our aim is to foster
civic participation and encourage neighborhood revitalization
while preserving open space. Community gardens provide green space
and easily accessible recreational opportunities in the areas

GreenBridge
Brooklyn GreenBridge, the community horticulture program of the
Brooklyn Botanic Garden, is designed to share the knowledge and
resources of BBG with the neighborhoods of the borough. Working
with block associations, community gardens, community centers,
and other groups, Brooklyn GreenBridge promotes conservation and
community through gardening activities.
