The CFB has three primary mandates: administering the Campaign Finance Program, publishing the Voter Guide, and overseeing the Debate Program. The Board is strictly nonpartisan, and by law the mayor's and the speaker's two appointees must come from different political parties. Board members serve staggered, five year terms.

What if you show up to vote and election workers say you are not registered?

1. Make sure you are at the correct voting precinct. You can
check at My Polling Place www.mypollingplace.com/find.php or call 1-866-OUR-VOTE for assistance.

2. If you are at the correct polling place and officials claim you are not registered, request a provisional ballot. It's your right under the law. This website has information on provisional ballots in each state:

3. You should also call 1 (866) OUR VOTE IMMEDIATELY, from the polling place, and let them know what is taking place, who you are, and where you are located.

Votes For Students
A non-profit, non-partisan get-out-the-vote organization. By working with colleges and universities nationwide to obtain directory information, VFS will e-mail students every tool needed to cast an educated vote on November 5. These tools will include voter registration and absentee ballot request forms, a voter guide outlining candidates and issues, and lastly, directions to the polling place. Votes For Students seeks to make the leaders of tomorrow the participants of today.
